Description
The Ford RS200 is a mid-engined, four-wheel drive sports car produced by Ford from 1984 to 1986. It was first displayed to the public at the Belfast Motor Show. Built by Ford Motorsports Racing division in England for group B racing, Ford utilized chief engineer and former F1 engineer John Wheeler and former F1 designer Tony Southgate in charge of its production.
The 200 RS 200 built in accordance with the FIA regulations were rated at 247 hp. Cars produced between 1984 and early 1986 had 420 hp turbo charged engines. Late 1986 saw the apparition of the Evolution, some utiliziing the new Turbo Charged 600 bhp 2.1 liter engines. The RS 200 Evo with this engine is the most powerful rally car ever built. This Group B Rally car had performance comparable to Formula 1 cars of the same era and has faster 0-60 times than an Enzo Ferrari or a McClaren F1.
